Smith, Vera
Former Inglewood librarian and children’s librarian who worked at the Vermont Square Branch from October 1, 1935 until her retirement on July 18, 1957. She was a bibliophile who was admired for her charming personality, gift as a storyteller, and her personal friendships with many children and parents (Los Angeles Public Library, 1949, p. 6; Los Angeles Public Library, 1959, p. 10).

Smith, Verneld
Worked as a librarian from August 22, 1949 to January 30, 1950 (Los Angeles Public Library, 1949, p. 13).

Spotts, Helen
Replaced Jessie Cavanagh as head librarian in January of 1929. Was the most influential and longest-running head librarian in the history of the branch, serving for nearly 16 years. Was noted for the following achievements: developing the library’s book collection; stressing the scientific, technical, and reference sections and building up several special collections in other fields; integrating the library’s services with the programs of many churches; establishing clubs and adult education groups; and being an active member of the community and joining a variety of committees and associations. For her many achievements and community involvement, she was given a lifetime membership in the Manual Arts High School Parent Teachers Association in 1943. She worked at the branch until April 1, 1945, when she was transferred to the Hollywood Branch Library (Los Angeles Public Library, 1936, p. 1; Los Angeles Public Library, 1949, pp. 5, 8).

Trusdeau, Blanche
A full-time clerical librarian from 1927 to 1933 (Los Angeles Public Library, 1936, pp. 7-8).

Voyer, Anne
A full-time clerical librarian from 1921 to 1922 and children’s librarian from 1922 to 1926 (Los Angeles Public Library, 1936, pp. 7-8).

Waive Stager, G.
Worked as a children’s librarian from 1930 to 1931 (Los Angeles Public Library, 1936, p. 8).

Watkins, Eunice
Worked as a senior attendant from 1925 to 1930 (Los Angeles Public Library, 1936, pp. 2, 7).

Watson, Christine
